The purpose of this blog is to discuss the 16th century Spanish Jesuit missionary. Brother Juan accompanied St. Francis Xavier to Japan. He was one of three Jesuits who were the first Christian missionaries ever to visit Japan. Having arrived in 1549, Brother Juan never again left the island nation, dying there twenty years later at the age of 42. His life was dedicated to the early Japanese Christians.

With my thesis complete, I am graduating in May
In January, my master's thesis was completed and, as a result, I graduated. I now possess a Master's in Humanities degree. In May, 2015 I will participate in the graduation ceremony or "Walk." The title of my master's thesis is: Brother Juan Fernandez: Missionary Companion to St. Francis Xavier to Japan (1549-51).
